Re-furb update for January 2022

Our refurbishment project is now well underway here at Plas Menai.

The centre remains closed but is a hive of activity to ensure that this project is on track.
The borehole drilling continues and we now have 2 drilling rigs on site.  The week commencing the 24th of January work on the internal strip-out of the boiler room and the radiators started and we have been able to take some pictures of the work.   On Thursday the 27th of January we said goodbye to the boilers, califiers, circulation pumps and pipework that have heated the centre for nearly 40 years.
The replacement ground source heat pumps that will take us away from carbon burning boilers will be on site next week and will be fitted over the next few weeks along with two air source pumps. It is so exciting to see work like this taking place on a 40 year old building. What an incredible time we live in that this is possible. It is move towards a greener Wales and it is great that Plas Menai is leading with way with this type of project.
Over the next few weeks we will post more pictures and updates along with information on the courses and activities when we reopen. At the moment we are looking forward to welcoming the public back on site in time for a busy Easter 2022. We have added bookable dates for our 2022 courses so take a look and see what appeals to you.
