Sport Wales and Parkwood Leisure are to Form a New Partnership at Plas Menai

We are delighted to announce Parkwood Leisure as the preferred commissioned partner to work alongside us at the National Outdoor Centre at Plas Menai from January 2023 following an extensive procurement process.
The partnership with the award winning leisure management provider is designed to ensure the Centre has a long-term sustainable future, providing more opportunities for people to enjoy the facility and the stunning North Wales coast.
Parkwood Leisure specialise in the development and operation of leisure facilities, visitor attraction centres, golf courses, heritage sites and theatres on behalf of local authority clients. Since their formation in 1995, they have grown and are now one of the most experienced providers of leisure management provision in the UK. Their mission is to create and maintain sustainable, lasting partnerships to help build happier and healthier local communities.
From 30 January 2023, Parkwood Leisure will take on the day to day running of the Centre for an initial ten year period. The buildings and land will continue to be owned by Sport Wales. A strategic partnership group comprising representatives from Sport Wales, Parkwood Leisure and staff working at Plas Menai will monitor the performance of the partnership. As well as growing and enhancing the current services the partnership must safeguard staff employment terms and conditions.
